FAQs

You’re more than welcome to visit the Eziliv display office at our Whangarei factory. We’ve always got plenty under construction in the factory to look at as well. Please get in touch with us to arrange an appointment.

Absolutely. Each Trailercom and Ezihome is built to order. Our standard plans can easily be adjusted to suit your lifestyle & site orientation. Custom plans sometimes cost a bit more than standard plans, depending on how over-the-top you go!

We deliver throughout the North Island. The cost of delivery is additional to our standard price as it depends on the size of the building, the location of your site, and how easy or difficult your access is. Eziliv can organise a free site visit anywhere in Northland or Auckland prior to signing any agreement. Site visits further south or offshore incur a travel fee, but if you then choose to go ahead with an agreement, we’ll deduct the fee off your purchase price.

If it’s a Trailercom you’re after, the construction time is typically 10 – 12 weeks depending on the size and any extras you add. Before we can start construction, we need a work space to become available in the Eziliv factory. Give us a call to discuss our current lead times. Construction time for an Ezihome is very similar. However, before we can start, we must also prepare and lodge the factory building consent, then wait for the council to approve it. Timing varies, but feel free to contact the Mayor or Prime Minister!!

An Eziliv Trailercom is a mobile, portable site caravan complete with towbar, axles & wheelhubs, designed for temporary living with a caravan plug for easy connection to services. An Ezihome is a permanent building, on permanent foundations, designed for long term living. An Ezihome usually requires a building consent unless you qualify for the 30m2 sleepout exemption.

If you want an Ezihome permanent building (instead of a Trailercom temporary site caravan) then a building consent is normally required, unless you qualify for the 30m2 sleepout exemption. Eziliv can prepare/lodge/obtain the factory building consent for you, and eventually obtain the factory Code of Compliance Certificate. You will need to organise a local draftsperson to prepare/lodge/obtain any site building consent (and resource consent if needed) covering foundations, service connections and any other matters relating to your site.

Any excavation of your site, and installation of your foundations needs to be carried out prior to delivery of your Trailercom or Ezihome. The most common types of temporary or permanent foundations are steel screw piles, round timber posts/poles, or square timber house piles. Eziliv doesn’t install foundations, but we can provide a pile layout guide and offer other assistance to whoever will be installing your foundations.

We don’t offer rental or finance options, but if your own bank won’t help, a finance broker might be a good solution. We’d be happy to supply you with some good broker contacts.
